Extensive renovation of the former Cereal City Museum

This renovation of the former Kellogg Cereal City Museum is now home to high school STEM education programs for exceptionally talented students. A new distribution center is also located on the site for the design, manufacture and distribution of science curriculum materials. TowerPinkster’s design used biological science for inspiration. Scientific installations including sustainability monitors tied to building systems, suspended molecular models, interactive technology exhibits, and the students’ solar car project enhance the interior space.

Schweitzer’s work included selective deconstruction of existing structure, engineered shoring, polished concrete flooring, cantilevered structural and stairwell systems, fabric ceiling clouds, snake tray cable management system, showcase MDF room, 3-story Foucault’s pendulum, mathematical patterns within two-toned insulated metal panel system.
